
Marek Hruby
Marek Hruby is an investment professional at a global firm managing over $100 billion in assets. He invests as a generalist across industries, in both public and private markets, and across equity and structured instruments. He began his career in investment banking, in M&A advisory and leveraged finance.
He has lived in four countries and studied at Vienna University of Economics and Business, National University of Singapore, and The London School of Economics and Political Science, before earning a master’s in financial analysis from London Business School.
Marek grew up in a family of teachers, and following that legacy he mentors aspiring investors - coaching teams for stock-pitching competitions and advising undergraduate and MBA students on applications and interviews for investment roles. Build Your Own Berkshire extends this work to a wider audience.
Outside work he enjoys photography, reading, and sports, including skiing, football, and racket sports. He is married and lives in London.
